I decided to start a weekly blog to keep everyone updated on the campaign.
Last Saturday night we held our first fundraiser dinner and it was a HUGE success!
I was so worried that no one would show up, but by 6:00pm the room started to
fill and I felt much better (see pics on services tab). I met scores of good people who had a lot of support for my ideas and my platform.
These citizens filled me with enthusiasm and gave me the assurance I was looking for - the assurance that there is a real want and need for the services, vision and leadership I can provide.
On April 2nd I will film a television interview with PATV (Calaveras County's Public Access Television station). I will post the air dates for that interview when I get them.

My wife and I attended the Calaveras Follies on Saturday and had a wonderful
time! One of our favorite moments of the evening was watching Lucy Thien dressed
as a skeleton in the skit "Dem Bones". The skit actually won “Best In Show”!
Congrats to Lucy and the rest of the cast.
This has been a very exciting time for me, and to keep you informed of my
activities I would like to give you a quick snapshot of my campaign week:
Today: Interview
Tuesday: Fundraiser
Wednesday: Luncheon
Thursday: Interview
Friday: Open
Saturday: Dinner
Sunday: Speaking engagement
Next week looks much the same with something happening every day!
Have a Great Week!

Monday 5/12
Over the past 3 weeks I have spent most of my days going door to door in the
district. I honestly believe that District 1 has some of the friendliest and most interesting people I have ever met in my life! I am very impressed by how
informed everyone is about the issues and problems that face our district and
county.
One of the hot-button issues District 1 residents and I have been discussing regards the Planning and Building Department.
My opponent has stated that she would simply clean-house starting from the top.
My position is that I do not yet have first-hand knowledge of what this entire
situation entails. Maybe the person in charge of the Planning and Building Department DOES need to be replaced – it is possible. But she is an employee, and like all employee’s she has a boss. In this case she has five bosses – The Calaveras
County Board of Supervisors...
I have been an employer for many years and it has been my experience that
employees (for the most part) do what their bosses direct them to do. (The employee stays employed that way). It is possible that she is doing her job as directed, but these concerns definitely warrant looking into and that is something I will do as District 1 Supervisor.

Tuesday 8/19
The Fall campaign season is getting started.
This week and the weeks leading up
to the election will be very busy.
I will re-start my door to door campaigning this week, and I must say that meeting voters face-to-face is one of my favorite things about running for office!
On Saturday night I attended the Habitat for Humanity's Hoe Down in Murphys.
There was plenty of food, entertaining music, and an extremely large silent
auction. I'd say this was a very successful fundraiser for a very worthy cause.

Wow! We had a very successful fund raiser. I would like to thank all those people who donated their time to make it happen. Also thanks to everyone who attended and to those who donated to my campaign. And a very big thanks to Kathy Mazzafero for her support!
The coming weeks are going to be very busy for me as I have started my door to door campaign. I hope to see you in the very near future.
